Responsibilities:

  1. Represent Mercy Corps in a professional manner.
  2. Ensure that activities are implemented in compliance with the requirements of USDA rules and regulations.
  3. Lead the planning, monitoring and supervision of behavior change activities;
  4. Oversee assigned aspects of the technical and operational management of SBC activities;
  5. Design and develop training modules and educational materials for community with the guidance of Mercy Corps’ HQ Nutrition&SBC advisor, in coordination with the related government institutions, for distribution;
  6. Develop and prepare training materials: modules, presentations, brochures, leaflets, handouts, video materials and other materials necessary for the training program;
  7. Identify and engage with local enterprises on development of universal materials and use of mass media;
  8. Translate training materials into Kyrgyz;
  9. Guide national approvals or Mercy Corps’ communications materials;
  10. Develop training schedules and prepare training budget estimates together with the manager and other program officers; ensure implementation and compliance with the schedules;
  11. Organize and conduct training activities: trainings, workshops, round tables, coaching, meetings and other activities in accordance with the approved training program plan;
  12. Supervise work of field trainers;
  13. Evaluate training results by conducting tests and make an analysis of training effectiveness using evaluation sheets to be completed by training participants;
  14. Contribute to the results reporting to monitor the project’s performance, including preparing reports
  15. Prepare reports on performed work and their submission to Finance Unit and Monitoring and Evaluation Unit;
  16. Submit reports including all financial documents as required;
  17. Keep record of planned and conducted activities and the data base reflecting the program training indicators implementation;
  18. Reveal weaknesses and suggest improvements to the program;
  19. Other position related duties as requested by the direct supervisor or Program Manager;
  20. Observe MC’s policies and procedures.

WORK WITH GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES

Interact with local authority representatives (MOH, Republican Health Promotion Center, District Education Departments, District Sanitary Epidemiological Departments) and representatives of parental committees and supervisory boards of schools on training organization, planning and conducting training activities.

Qualifications:

  • University degree,
  • Min 3-5 years’ of relevant programing experience,
  • Excellent knowledge of English, Russian and Kyrgyz languages
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Experience in Social Behavior Change and Communications
  • Ability to train beneficiary institutions’ staff .
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills and report writing skills
  • Past experience developing or implementing trainings preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Success Factors

High level of personal integrity, flexibility, commitment, attention to detail and ability to work well as member of a team. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work simultaneously on different tasks. Honesty, transparency and professionalism in work.

One position is based in Bishkek and one position is based in Osh and requires regular travels throughout the respective region.
