The Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) is a financial hub in Kazakhstan. A Compliance Officer within the AIFC regulatory framework would have a range of responsibilities related to ensuring the organization and its members adhere to internal policies and procedures, as well as local and international laws and regulations.
Job description for a Compliance Officer within the AIFC:

Regulatory Compliance: Understanding and staying up to date with AIFC regulations and laws as well as international financial regulations and standards. This includes ensuring adherence to regulations from bodies such as the Financial Services Regulatory Commission (FSRC), the regulator within the AIFC.

Policy Development and Implementation: Creating, implementing, and maintaining effective compliance policies and procedures for the organization. These should align with AIFC's regulations and any other relevant laws and guidelines.

Training and Education: Conducting training sessions and seminars to educate employees on relevant regulations and internal compliance procedures. Also, updating them on any regulatory changes.

Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly reviewing the organization's operations to identify any compliance risks. This includes regular reporting on compliance matters to the organization's senior management and/or board.

Investigation and Enforcement: Conducting internal investigations into any potential compliance issues. This includes enforcing disciplinary measures when compliance failures occur and reporting major issues to the appropriate regulatory bodies.

Compliance Advisory: Acting as a point of contact within the organization for all compliance-related issues. This includes providing advice on the compliance aspects of proposed strategic initiatives or new products.

Audit and Review: Collaborating with internal and external auditors to ensure regular audit schedules, and respond to audit findings and recommendations.

Stakeholder Management: Liaising with various stakeholders, including AIFC authorities, auditors, legal counsels, and business partners to ensure comprehensive compliance coverage.
The role requires in-depth knowledge of local and international financial regulations, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and presentation skills, and experience in a regulatory compliance role. A background in law, finance, business, or a related field would typically be advantageous.
