About the project

Huawei Mobile Service delivers high-quality digital content & mobile services to consumers. Our products consist of AppGallery, Game Center, Themes, Video, Music, Reader, Hi Cloud, and Browser, etc. The vision of HUAWEI cloud game project is to build a cloud game platform with the best experience in the industry. Cloud gaming is a cloud-computing-based approach: All games run on the server. The game image will be compressed and then transmitted to the terminal display over the network. On the client, the gamer's device doesn't require any high-end processors or graphics cards, just basic video-decoding capabilities. We are trying to provide high quality of the game image, low latency, installation-free and zero-waiting software.

There are two directions of research

# 1 is codec research

Key responsibilities:

• Optimization the codec algorithm, such as H.264, H.265 .etc
• Conduct independent research in audio/video

# 2 is AI solution, which can help to enhance the performance of gaming image

Key responsibilities:

• Develop AI models
• Evaluate and test AI models
• Discover and suggest AI models for audio/video H.264, H.265 encoding and decoding

Skills and experience required:

• MS or Ph.D. degree in a field such as Audio/Visual Communications, Computer Science or related quantitative field
• 3+ years of professional programming experience in building real-time, performance sensitive systems
• Demonstrated proficiency in C/C++/Java, algorithm design, low level computer architecture, software design, and analyzing computational complexity
• Familiar with network protocols, like TCP/UDP/TLS/RTP/SRTP

Will be a bonus:

• Experience with browser streaming protocols such as RTSP, RTP, HLS, UDP and RTMP.
• Advanced knowledge of Video Compression: MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H264, H265, HEVC, J2K, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of Audio Compression: Dolby AC3, Dolby Digital Plus, AAC, etc.
• Have an engineering background in video processing, encoding/decoding and Web RTC
• Experience in AI/ML algorithms
