We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Java) to join our Customer Solutions team.

Who we are

GridGain Systems is a major contributor to the Apache Ignite™ — a TOP-5 Apache SF project, an open-source distributed in-memory computing platform which is used in companies all over the world for fast and fault-tolerant access to their data.

GridGain’s Customer Solutions team is responsible for helping GridGain’s users like American Express, Barclays, Microsoft, IBM, American Airlines and many more integrate and use Apache Ignite™ platform to build and launch their products.

What you will do

• Support Apache Ignite™ users: troubleshoot issues, provide architectural and usage recommendations

• Run pilot projects: build proof-of-concept systems to meet architectural, performance and other requirements of potential customers

• Develop the platform, integrations with different technologies and tools

• Help to design and implement new features and influence the product direction based on the customer feedback

What we expect

We welcome people with various backgrounds and areas of expertise. We expect at least the following from a successful candidate:

• 3+ years experience as a Software Engineer

• Excellent Java SE knowledge including IO, JVM internals, etc.

• Experience with concurrent programming

• Experience with SQL databases

• English — upper intermediate or higher

The following will be a strong plus:

• Experience in troubleshooting Java applications and/or databases

• Experience with building distributed systems and algorithms

• Deep knowledge of concurrency in Java and Java Memory Model and/or of concurrency model in other programming systems

• Experience with NoSQL and/or distributed databases

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or public Cloud (AWS, GCE, Azure, etc.)

• Experience working in support, consulting or other customer-facing positions
