Responsibilities:

• Establishments of district metered area (DMA)
  • locate the possible best source in a pipe network to install a district meter needed for the initial measurement of the DMA based from the existing as-built plans
  • installation of pressure loggers on site for pressure profile analysis to locate the best possible location of critical point within the DMA to install the pressure monitoring point (PMP)
  • install pressure data loggers on proposed boundary valves to check the water tightness and conduct series of Zero Pressure test activities until it meets the requirements of 16psi and above water pressure within the isolated pipe network which is needed before it can be declared as an established DMA.
• Leak Detection activities
  • conducting walk the line within the DMA to checks any surfacing leaks (service pipe leaks, vertical leaks) and immediately endorses job orders to fast track the repairs
  • Implements Ste- testing Activities during minimum night flow on DMAs with high NRW volumes conducts leak detection by using special equipment such as AQUASCAN 610 (correlator), X-MIC (sound listening stick) on pipe segments which has possible underground leaks based on the step testing results
  • assist team on providing valving assistance on pipe inspection using an equipment (JD7 technology) to thoroughly checks the actual condition inside the pipe and locate for possible leaks or illegal tapped connections which cannot be pinpointed by correlators/listening stick.conducts blanket leak detection (meter to meter) using X-MIC (listening stick) during daytime on those DMA which has minimal noise surroundings.

• QA/QC of all ongoing pipe replacement projects.
• Materials forecasting (pipes, valves, hydrants, small and large meters, and mechanical fittings)
• Supervise and implements safety protocol to our daily activities
• Prepares and computes water balances and other performance indicators
• Proposed meter banking projects to eliminate illegal connections on depressed areas.
• Monitors affected pipe networks by the ongoing projects of other implementing agencies (drainage under construction, road improvement) for possible relocation or re-alignment of pipes.
• Conducts immediate site pressure survey/investigation, pipe network segmental test (partial step-test) for possible mainline leaks that causes low pressure to no water complains within the Area of concern during daytime when leak detection activity is not feasible
• Attends to customer complaints (leak complaint, low pressure) and provide assistance to resolve the issue.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in technical engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5 years’ experience in a similar position in network maintenance and construction work
• Knowledge of equipment, techniques, and procedures involved in the maintenance and repair of pipes and related facilities and equipment.
• Good written skills and fluent speaker in English.
• Working place Samarkand region.
