Regional Project Coordinator (Full time, 100%) in Kharkiv

Deutsche Gesellschaft f?r Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is looking for a qualified professional to fill the position of a Regional Project Coordinator (Full time, 100%) in Kharkiv for the project “Integrated Urban Development in Ukraine (IDU) II”.

The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and implemented by GIZ. It supports, besides the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, 8 cities in the country in applying integrated and participatory planning approaches. For that purpose, the project will coordinate and cooperate with a broad range of local/national and international partners and stakeholders.

Areas of responsibilities

• Coordination of the regional IDU office and the implementation of the project in Kharkiv;
• Support to the Envoy of the City of Kharkiv to the project in consultation with the project director;
• Support to the local working groups during the elaboration and/or implementation of the Integrated Urban Development Concept (IUDC) and the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP);
• Direct cooperation with the interdisciplinary working group;
• Coordination of local, national and international experts during their assignments in Kharkiv;
• Continuous communication and reporting with the 4 component coordinators of the project;
• Ensuring a good communication and information flow between the regional office in Kharkiv, the project office in Kyiv and the GIZ country office in Kyiv;
• Support to the project director, drafting and implementing contracts;
• Independent implementation and settlement of contracts of national contract partners and suppliers;
• Filing of documents according to GIZ rules, physically and digitally;
• Organization and coordination of events of the project in Kharkiv;
• Translation in the frame of coordination and professional discussions of the project director and/or international short time experts;
• Representing the interests of the project towards the local city administration and other local stakeholders in Kharkiv.

Required qualifications, experience and competences

• University degree in one or several relevant specialisations as urban planning (architecture), economy, law, management, communication, or similar;
• at least 3 years of professional experience in a comparable position;
• experience in the collaboration with international donor and /or implementing organizations are an advantage;
• Very good working knowledge of ICT, such as MS Office;
• very good knowledge of English and/or German; Ukrainian fluent;
• high level of communication and interaction competencies;
• responsible readiness;
• basic knowledge in urban planning and participatory planning;
• good communication and organisational skills;
• broad experience of management and administration.

The assignment starts as of 01.12.2019. Full-time position with 40-hours working week. The contract duration is until the end of December 2022. Prolongation possible.
