Job purpose

• Development and execution of the Fund’s investment policy and objectives achievement through definition and periodical update of the Fund’s investment priorities; development of Funding and Dividend policies and constant monitoring of Fund’s portfolio performance.

Skills, knowledge and experience

• Preferably at least 5 years of experience in portfolio-level investment strategy/ or assets management practices in recognized investment banks and/or sovereign wealth funds and/or top-ranked private equity funds and/or diversified holding companies and/or in a recognized consulting company. Experience in investment banking, financial consulting companies, and other such institutions will also be considered.
• Experience in investment/asset portfolio management, portfolio optimization and portfolio development
• Experience in developing and supporting financial modeling, valuation modeling, portfolio risk management modeling
• User of financial assessment programs for modeling, planning and business analytics
• Strategic and analytical thinking skills, ability to develop, express and defend independent opinion
• Good time-management organizational and communication skills.
• Advanced PowerPoint presentation and storyboarding skills is a plus.
• Knowledge of portfolio asset management best practices including national welfare Funds, private equity funds
• Understanding of international, economic, industrial and business trends as well as markets in Kazakhstan
• Bachelor degree in business, economics, mathematics, engineering or similar earned in a well-recognized university
• Fluent in English and Russian, conversational level of Kazakh language is a plus

Main responsibilities:

Support in execution of Investment Policy

• Provides expert opinion on relevant Fund-level investment projects from the standpoint of portfolio objectives
• Prepares proposals on strategic and/or tactical redistribution of assets and resources of the Fund
• Prepares proposals on investments/divestments including proposals on potential co-investors for new portfolio investments

Modeling and monitoring

• Develops DCF modeling methodology for the Fund and portfolio companies
• Performs portfolio modeling, participates in financial measurement and assessment of investment at portfolio companies
• Conducts analysis of capital assets and portfolio investment projects on compliance with the risk, profitability requirements and portfolio development goals

• Examines results and factors over achievement / non-achievement of the target portfolio parameters and runs the report on lessons learned; executes preliminary calculation of KPIs for the Portfolio, makes adjustments according to shareholders expectations
• Develops proposals on resource (re-) allocation among portfolio companies as a result of monitoring
