About the role

We're seeking a proactive team member with an entrepreneurial mindset and excellent analytical skills to join us as a Venture Analyst. You'll be responsible for finding and engaging with promising solo founders and established teams from the entrepreneurial community to fuel our Venture Builder as part of the Venture Analysts team. You'll also provide clear, actionable data to help UltraLab make informed decisions on which startups to select for our programs and potentially invest in. As a result, you'll be the main source of market data, tech trends, and engaged pipeline for the most promising founders and startups in the region. This role will give you the opportunity to get into the VC industry and obtain knowledge and necessary skills to potentially grow into the Investment Manager role in the future.

Main Responsibilities:

• Startup deal sourcing: Generate a list of high-quality leads for UltraLab by meeting with entrepreneurs, attending tech events, and building relationships with startups. Continuously look for new sources of leads.

• Business analysis: Evaluate investment opportunities by analyzing the competition, product, technology, team, and market fit. Participate in the selection process.

• Market research: Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and developments by monitoring the tech market.

• Operational improvements: Improve the scouting and selection process to increase resource efficiency and business intelligence.

• Project management: Manage the application process in close collaboration with the UltaLab team.

• Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with partners across Europe to increase deal flow, collaboration, and marketing efforts.

About you:

You're smart and observant, able to tackle tasks with both a big-picture perspective and a keen attention to detail. You quickly understand the business model and products of startups after just a few minutes on their website. You have a natural talent for reading people and connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds. You're curious by nature and always asking questions to gain a deeper understanding. You keep up-to-date with startup news and enjoy working with spreadsheets. Plus, you have a talent for analyzing data and spotting patterns.

Must have requirements:

• BSc university degree in Business, Finance, STEM or other related fields;

• Up to 1 year of experience at an investment bank, VC fund, accelerator or startup.

• A desire to learn about the venture capital industry, tech startups, and entrepreneurship;

• Strong ability to take on increased responsibility and work independently with a results-oriented attitude;

• Analytical mindset and extremely high attention to details;

• Well developed social and interpersonal skills, strong relationship management skills;

• Advanced knowledge of Excel;

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English and Russian.
