Overview

This position is responsible for development and management of the technical interfaces between the in-country and projects teams to ensure effective communication and exchange of information to support successful delivery of projects critical delivering on its transformation agenda.

Key Responsibilities

• Stakeholder management and consultation across the in-country and projects team with a focus on progressing technical and socio-economic activities.
• Maintenance of project budgets related to in-country activities, resources, and staffing to meet objectives and time frames.
• Providing high-level input into planning, and ensure planning is appropriate to meet the project requirements.
• Promote and ensure optimal results in safety and environmental management.
• Provide regular reporting to Portfolio Management on project performance and related activities.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential problems and lead contingency plans.
• Management of in-country engineering study consultant activities on behalf of the Regional Portfolio team.
• Review selection of plant and equipment ensuring that due consideration is given to engineering and commercial factors.
• The management of internal and external relationships with key stakeholders.

Experience

• Prior experience in a similar role preferably in the energy sector or large complex industrial environments.
• Experience working within an owners engineer function or a Tier 1 contractor / consultant.
• Professional engineering accreditation.
• Strong negotiation, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer literacy with high competency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Project management and supervision skills.
• Fluent spoken and written English language skills as well as local/regionally specific languages.
• Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in collaboration with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams.
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Aveva or similar.
• Intimate knowledge of local regulatory permits and approvals required for large scale capital projects.
• Intimate knowledge and experience with national technical compliance standards and legislative requirements.
• Exposure to and understanding of local heavy industry supply chain.
