We are looking for a Environmental and Compliance Engineer to join our team based in Karshi. You will report to the EHS Manager and you will be responsible for supporting and facilitating the implementation of the company’s EHS&Q Management System and national legislation across all of the Karshi Gases business. In order to succeed in this position you will need good interpersonal skills, operational and technical credibility and knowledge of products, processes, markets and business served.

As the Environmental and Compliance Engineer you will:

• Understand the full scope of Compliance in regards to our installation in Karshi;
• Translate the legal and AP requirements and ensure that legal environmental requirements are met and monitor related new and emerging legislation;
• Facilitate the implementation of all revised Global or local company EHS&Q Standards and training materials;
• Implement all standards and requirements (like ISO9000) and assist in Compliance review with new production developments;
• Work with Business-, Line- and Site Managers:

• on further implementation of the elements of compliance programs so that teams and plants can make the next steps in their Safety Journey;
• to assist Line management to ensure that all Compliance incidents are adequately investigated, and effective corrective actions are implemented;
• to participate in the EH&S self-assessment and Audit process

You will have:

Engineering background and bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with demonstrated relevant technical experience.

A minimum of 5 years total relevant experience, working in compliance roles with demonstrated knowledge of Uzbek Legislation.

Supplemented by the following:

• Languages – Uzbek, Russian and English proficiency, both oral & written.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills across all levels (technical and non-technical)
• Good understanding of change management
• In depth understanding of relevant legislation such as Environmental, labor and dangerous goods management
• A broad knowledge of EHS management systems and of the processes, technologies and equipment in use on industrial sites and their potential hazards
