Description

You’ll join Metals & Mining practice at Moscow office and work with the team and clients to improve mining end-to-end production cost savings and optimize the plant procurement process.

The Metals & Mining practice brings a unique blend of industry, functional, and regional expertise to help mining companies solve their most important and complex problems, and deliver fundamental, measurable, and lasting performance improvement. Additionally, we help leaders hone strategy, transform operational performance and organizational effectiveness, and deliver step-change improvements right across the value chain—from resource efficiency to capital productivity to marketing.

?????Job responsibilities

• assist clients in plant operations, data collection and verification, and perform quantitative analysis of client data and incorporate qualitative observations; conduct on-site assessments of clients’ operating performance, based on a standardized set of criteria.
• benchmark the key performance indicators, and identify the gaps in operating performance with best practices; maintain and continually refresh the set of benchmarking data and to direct our analysts to generate reports based on these benchmarks and site observations.
• observe and understand the technical differences of the client plant with the best practice facility and leverage that information to conduct factor analysis explaining the performance gaps.
• identify the main improvement opportunities and actions and to deliver recommendations to senior clients and front line managers.
• participate in new product developments of innovative approaches to metallurgical data analytics.
• maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and competitor offerings, and you’ll have the chance to continuously learn about technological development in the industry.

Requirements

• Bachelors or masters degree in STEM-related discipline; advanced degree preferred
• Professional focus with 5-10 years of experience in at least one of the following areas: mine planning, mine operations management with field experience in mining production
• Excellent knowledge of contemporary technologies of mine and mining product production
• In-depth understanding of the development trends in the industry is an advantage
• Demonstrated attitude for analytics and problem solving
• Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Access or statistical/database experience a plus
• Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
• Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Russian
• Willingness to travel frequently
