Situated on the river banks of Essil, in the heart of Astana's Central Park and in the center of the Diplomatic district The St. Regis Astana will open early 2017.

120 sumptuous guest suites feature a unique identity of discreet luxury. The hotel will embrace a specialty grill restaurant where guests enjoy an unrivaled service and sample the best ingredients or indulge in the flawless luxury of Iridium Spa after a long day of captivating city impressions or business meetings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure a clean, smart appearance at all times
  • Clear understanding of hotel’s Associate handbook and the regulations stated within.
  • Train, supervise and control the work of immediate.
  • Observe the working attitude of each colleague.
  • Strives to develop self-esteem which results in a friendly, relaxed attitude with guests.
  • Be attentive at all time on guest’s wishes in order to increase sales by promoting business.
  • Good understanding of people, a genuine interest in food and beverage.
  • Knowledge of menu contents.
  • Able to bring forward the problem or complaint received to his/her Restaurant or Assistant Restaurant Manager.
  • Capable of handling mishaps, e.g. spilling of water, wine or food.
  • Reports to the management anything he/she cannot handle alone.
  • Keep kitchen informed the timing of the next coming course.
  • Make sure food and beverage are ready at the appropriate time.
  • Contact kitchen chefs for information on daily menu, items not available and explaining.
  • Constant standard of performance whether the operation is busy or not.
  • Work as a team and offer help when needed.
  • Should be able to handle all telephone calls and reservations.
  • Receive and seat the guests in courteous manner.
  • Takes orders.
  • Engage in suggestive selling.
  • Serve the food and beverage ordered by the guests to the correct standards of service.
  • Clear tables and re-set the equipment as necessary.
  • Present the bill to the guest.
  • Check place before service and maintain good and clean condition.
  • Check table menus for its cleanliness.
  • Practice necessary sanitation measures in food and beverage handling.
  • Acquaint with all electrical and mechanical equipment and also observe all safety precautions whilst using such equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment in the outlet is used in such a manner as to prevent damage and prolong its usage.
  • Ensure the stocking and clearing of stations is adhered to strictly.
  • Adhere to tip procedure used.
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations set by the management while on duty.
  • To ensure that the completed log books are sent every night to the Food and Beverage office.
  • To ensure to check previous shift log book for any comment.
  • To ensure that at the end of the service, his/her area of responsibilities are left clean and tidy
  • To ensure doors are locked and energy sources are off if applicable.
  • To perform or assign other duties or responsibilities by the management from time to time

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Must be able to speak, read, write Russian, English and Kazakh
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must have knowledge of alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food
  • Must have knowledge of business management principles and practices
  • Must have knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Must have knowledge of cost control procedures
  • Must have knowledge of human resource management practices
  • Must have knowledge of administrative procedures
  • Must have knowledge of relevant computer applications
  • Must have exceptional organizational, supervisory skills.
  • Must be able to prepare and analyze data and figures, and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
  • Must have exceptional food and beverage knowledge and pricing.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience

One to two years of food and beverage service background and prior hospitality experience required.

Grooming

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Starwood standards.
