Air Freight Forwarding Manager:
This role reports to the Director of Freight Forwarding and work collaboratively with Director and head of department to build and develop a Domestic and International Air Freight Forwarding service offering for the Company. Primary functions will be operational and process focused, in order to build and deliver an Air product for the customers.
Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the air freight forwarding operational procedures (domestic and import/export)
Map company process flows and continuously review to identify efficiency gains
Serve as the Indirect Air Carrier Security Coordinator for the Company
Establish and manage relationships with origin counterparts and destination partners
Strategically grow a network of air carriers
Lead negotiation of rates and contracts with air carriers
Develop and build a domestic Authorized Representative carrier base
Oversee compliance with applicable requirements, laws, regulation, other government requirements and filings, and company standards
Grow the team by recruiting, onboarding, and developing air import/export talent
Experience:
1-5 years of air freight forwarding experience
Meet the requirements to serve as the Company
Experience establishing or enhancing freight forwarding operational
functions (domestic and import/export)
Results oriented with proven ability to drive substantial growth of a domestic and international air freight forwarding business
Experience in negotiating contracts with air carriers
Strong understanding of applicable laws, regulations and other government requirements
Experience participating in the creation of strategic planning initiatives
Strong analytical skills with a systematic problem-solving approach
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or related preferred
