• Within their respective disciplines, these individuals are responsible for oversight of contractor’s quality activities as defined in the project approved Inspection and Test Plans.
• Obtains and examines all relevant inspection documentation, including drawings, ITPs, QVDs, procedures, etc.
• ?As directed by the Site Quality Manager, monitors project and construction by conducting periodic surveillance, examining documentation, and participating in formal planned audits.
• Issues quality reports to appropriate parties and follow up until closure.
• Assists in controlling nonconforming work activities or hardware, through the nonconformance control procedure.
• Submits statistical information to Site Quality Manager or equivalent for weekly or monthly reporting purposes.
• Witnesses testing in accordance with the specified ITPs developed for the project.
• Familiar with Non Destructive Evaluation techniques related to concrete & Steel structures.
• Monitoring and Verifying contractors grouting activities.
• Control checks of structure steel erection.
• Control checks of Structure steel bolted connections.
• Control checks of formwork and re-bar installation.
• Monitoring concrete placement pours.
• Control checks of preformed concrete sections.
• Reviews contractor’s test equipment calibration certification and ensures accurate results are being provided.
• Ensures that documentation is completed, signed off, and compiled as work progresses, to support turnover and record retention activities at the project site.
• Reports to the Site Quality Representative Lead.
• Obtain all relevant documentation for inspections, including Drawings, , GOST, SNiPS ITPs and procedures.
• Receive Notifications for Inspection (NFIs), and carry out inspections, and witness of tests, in accordance with project documentation e.g. drawings, specifications and ITPs.
• Review and sign Contractors QVDs/Checklists, and monitor Contractors compilation of quality records; and review quality dossiers.
• To witness 3rd Party/lab inspections as required.
• To review Contractor’s’ test equipment calibration certification.
• To assist in Turnover activities after completion of Construction.
• Carry out regular surveillances and issues surveillance reports.
• Issue and track Non Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Maintain records of inspections.
• Review Contractors’ procedures and attend meetings as requested by the QC Lead

Requirements:

• Higher technical degree
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in the specified inspection discipline (CSA Quality experience) and a minimum of two (2) years of construction activities in the contract's scope of work e.g. oil, gas and/or petrochemical projects.
• Inspectors shall have an American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification (desirable), NICET Level II certification or an equivalent system acceptable to Company.
• Able to read, interpret and communicate (both written and verbally) in English.
• Fully conversant with industry standards and specifications. Reads construction drawings. Basic Excel, Word skills required.
• Experience of surveying - Inspectors shall demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of recognized building codes such as the Uniform Building Code (UBC) or equivalent standards.
• Inspector shall demonstrate thorough knowledge and proven ability in construction techniques with emphasis on soil mechanics, foundations, retaining walls, structural steel, masonry, building interiors, building finishes, roof systems, and asphalt.
