THE ROLE: Quantitative Developers at WorldQuant research, design, code, test and deploy projects while working collaboratively with researchers. Our environment is relaxed yet intellectually intense. Our teams are lean and agile, which means rapid prototyping of products with immediate user feedback. In fact, of the 600 employees globally, approximately 500 of them code on a daily basis.

WorldQuant is seeking an exceptional individual to join the firm as a Quantitative Development Intern. You will collaborate with researchers to gather, analyze and spec out requirements, develop/test/maintain/document code, and manage product deliverables. A successful candidate will help build the software that will be used by a wide community of researchers.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Job Responsibilities:

• IT Infrastructure Development

• Collaborate with researchers on internal IT infrastructure construction

• Research tools repository maintenance

• Manage repository systems

• Test, maintain, and document research tools

• Dashboard development

• Maintain and enhance data processing and visualization systems

Job Requirements:

• 4th year of studies and higher (MSc and PhD students are welcome) from a top university in Computer Science or related areas
• High GPA
• Possession of core technical skills, including the following:

• Python (required)

• C/C++ (desirable)

• UNIX/Linux (required)

• Git (required)

• XML processing (required)

• Dashboard design (desirable)

• Strong work ethic: dedication, self-discipline, willingness to help others
• Proactive attitude, good communication skills within a team environment
• Good knowledge of English

As a plus:

• Programming experience in commercial or scientific software development
• Experience analyzing and interpreting data
• Participant of International or regional Mathematics/Programming/Physics Olympiads
• Strong record of academic achievement (such as scientific publications, conference presentations, grants or awards)

Position based in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.
