With around 2,400 employees, the Corporate Technology (CT) central division, together with the business units, secures the future of the Siemens Group. CT conducts research on future technologies with internal and external partners such as universities and research institutes. The core of the work is the transfer of the research results into current and future product developments via prototypical implementation as well as technology consulting for the software development departments of various business units of Siemens AG and its Subsidiaries.

What are responsibilities?

As a Distributed Computing Software Engineer, you are part of a highly qualified team in an international environment (e. g. Russia, Germany, USA, China). The position offers you expert insights into various domains and projects: from industrial automation and railway technology to smart grids and smart cities as well as medical technology. In addition to flexible working time models, Siemens offers a wide range of training courses and there are many medium- to long-term development opportunities within Siemens

• You support software architecture consulting for (Siemens-internal) customers in the field of parallel and distributed (industrial) IoT systems

• You analyze, migrate and optimize existing software for distributed systems

• In addition, design and develop tools and software components for distributed systems

• You shape and elaborate research topics in the field of distributed systems and industrial IoT

• You implement prototypes

• You take over the (partial) project management

• In addition, you support us by project acquisition

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• We would like to get to know you if you have successfully completed a university degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics or engineering

• You convince us with many years of experience in the field of design and implementation of software systems in Java or Kotlin, ideally in the field of parallel and distributed systems

• You score with experience in C/C++ and/or C#

• Contributions to research and development in the area of parallel and distributed algorithms and applications are desirable

• Ideally, you have knowledge of tools for run-time analysis and procedures to ensure correctness (test, validation, verification) and performance (tracing, profiling) of software components in environment of parallel and distributed systems

• Very good knowledge of English completes your profile and German would be a benefit
