International commodity trading and production company, in connection with development of its business activity and geographical expansion, and the opening of a representative office in Kyiv, Ukraine, announces a job opening for the position of Grain Trader, Kyiv.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day analysis and origination of the assigned commodities markets;
• Manage developing and maintaining of origination network;
• Expand network of global customers on CNF and FOB basis;
• Manage counterparty performance risk;
• Using reliable sources, coordinate collection of market data and its timely communication to trading hub/team,
• Perform regular origination P&L estimates;
• Inform trading hub/team on important government decisions, amendment in legislation affecting business, competition trading activity, farmer behavior
• Monitor development in the agro business in Ukraine: consolidations, new projects, logistical infrastructure development;
• Maintain local S&Ds, monitor crops development, harvest/planting progress;
• Collect and monitor statistical information on exports, production, consumption, crop quality, grains disappearance;
• Daily activities include logistics management of commodity contracts, supplier communications for the purpose of the purchase of the specific commodity, market analysis activity, accounts receivable management and various other tasks related to commodity merchandising;
• Monitor and keep track of price dynamics for assigned commodities on CPT and FOB basis;
• Assist in development of local strategy;
• Identify major idea and projects that will make significant contributions to the business;
• Effectively handle accounting and logistical problems when they arise.

Requirements

• University Degree in Marketing, Finance, Ag Business, Ag Economics or Economics is preferred.
• 7 years of experience is preferred
• Fluent English
• Must be aggressive, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
• Self-starter with own network of loyal grain suppliers and proven track record of delivering on results and bottom line profitability
• Demonstrated strengths in relationship building, problem solving, and conflict management
• Experience with P&L management
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking capabilities
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
