Nike is looking for an experienced accountant for our Nike Russia Retail entitiy, responsible for FA and AP accounting activities and support of Chief Accountant in executing of Financial Accounting, Reporting and Compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Controls Accounts payable area: checks AP postings prepared by outsourcing provider, posts expenses for retained vendors, checks AP documents before sending to outsourcing provider, checks and confirms payment proposals, checks prepaid expenses balance, oversees transit account and AP subledger, checks purchase ledger.
• Controls Fixed Assets area: controls Asset under Construction reconciliation and Asset capitalization, retirement, depreciation posting prepared by outsourcing provider, calculates GAAP/RAP depreciation adjustment, Tax depreciation, Property tax.
• Controls Accounts receivable and cash area: control over acquiring postings and reconciliation, cash collection and cash reconciliation
• Performs Month end closing and reporting activities: prepares Accruals, PPE-pack, Quarter end pack, performs Monthly accounts reconciliation, prepares F-4 Statutory cash flow
• Manages External Statutory audit, including leading the coordination with our external auditors, provides the details upon tax/internal auditors requests in respective areas.
• Participates in the development, implementation and maintenance of financial policies, procedures and systems to ensure company policies are implemented, transactions are appropriately accounted for and reports and prepared and analyzed in a timely manner
• Reports to Chief Accountant for Russia Retail. The candidate will remotely cooperate with our external resources located in Romania that undertook some transactional finance work. The role requires continued project management of this external relationship and process optimization in respective areas.
• Identify efficiencies and action plans for improving processes, integrating activities with a focus on value added activity, and actively participate in roll-out of new tools, policies, or processes.
• Act as a business partner / advisor to support other functions as they engage in projects where controlling expertise is required.

Minimum requirements:

• Higher education in Tax or Accounting
• 3-5 years of working experience as Team leader (in AP or FA areas) or Deputy Chief accountant in International Retail Companies
• Knowledge of Russian tax and local statutory requirements
• Experience of working with Retail Stores
• Good working knowledge of English language: both verbal and written
• Good MS Office and financial system knowledge
• Practical experience of working with SAP 3 years +
• US GAAP
