We invite you to join our global team Lawyer/Senior Lawyer who will be responsible for cross-border issues.

Requirements:

• Degree in Law from a leading EU or UK university or from a top US law school.
• Experience in law in the UK or in EU, preferably Germany, with at least 2-3 years in active practice of law (either in-house or with a law firm). In-house counsel experience managing cross-border legal teams in multinational corporations is an advantage. Practical experience with EU law and regulation (and/or German or other continental law systems) is an advantage.
• Experience in procuring external legal advice. Understanding of the strengths and areas of expertise of the major UK, US and German law firms.
• Experience in IT/TMT law and regulation is an advantage.
• Strong work ethics.
• Being proactive and result-oriented.
• Ability to find practical solutions and implement them.
• Native-level fluency in spoken and written English. Proficiency in German language is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

In the role of the ABBYY’s Lawyer/Senior Lawyer, you will:

• Advise on cross-border issues.
• Draft and/or review agreements’ templates and other contractual documents in accordance with EU/German or UK applicable laws and regulations. Support current legal projects and processes.
• Identify areas of legal/regulatory risk, gauge such risks and work with senior management to implement appropriate risk mitigation techniques and solutions.
• Ensure efficient and timely provision of clear legal advice to the ABBYY’s management on the laws of all relevant jurisdictions (including UK/German law).
• Other legal support as required.
