One of our biggest client is looking for Production Manager (Coatings) to join dynamic and challenging project in Kazakhstan (Company the world's largest steel company).

Key objectives

• To support the business unit by managing hands-on on-site smooth running of protective coating production lines (3LPE, LE, 2FBE, internal epoxy coatings, other).

Job Duties

Shop floor orientation - 80%, planning and people management -20%

• Organize workflow to meet customer`s specifications and deadlines.
• Close coordination with TCO customer to meet requirements.
• Ensure output meets quality standards.
• Monitor production activities, parameters on site to resolve issues.
• Coordinate preparing orders planning, estimating timescales and costs control – monitoring production schedules and adjusting them if needed to meet deadlines.
• Estimate coating line costs for budget, projects and if needed by business.
• Determine amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, etc.).
• Coordinate and overview coating maintenance team`s scope of work to keep equipment in optimum condition.
• Support and lead autonomous maintenance of coating shop. Ensure involvement of production and support functions staff.
• Managing production and maintenance supervisors, organizing coating staff and making sure targets are met (headcount 25-50 pure production staff)
• Directing and coordination of production personnel to ensure workers' compliance with established coating procedures and standards.
• Build a sustainable system of skill-management and trainings required for the targeted coating projects
• Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel
• Ensure compliance with corporate and local health and safety requirements
• Apply best practices to comply with, ensure subordinate staff well trained and follow on subjects H&S rules.
• Participate in all required meetings providing input and recommendations.
• Report to upper management (KPIs, production progress reports, etc.)
• Liaise with other managers to fulfill production plan.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints. Support on possible customer complains to identify the route cause and proposals to implement countermeasures to prevent non-conformity from clients.
• Facilitate implementation of a long-term Coating strategy for the business
• Drive a reorganization process with a main focus on Coating shop efficiency
• Develop CAPEX projects according to the market requirements
• Coordinate with involved support team and make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement

Qualification and competencies requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (mechanical engineering, chemical, quality)
• At least 10 years experience in Coatings
• Production manager or superintend in coatings experience at least 3 years
• Familiarity with coating techniques, procedures, strong knowledge (3LPE, LE, 2FBE, internal epoxy)
• Good ability understand clients’ needs and desire to satisfy those needs
• Ability to finish projects on time and scale
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in teams and contribute to team success
• Stress tolerance, ability work under pressure
• Influencing and leading
• Delegation and coaching skills
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good relationships with different sets of people
• Skilled in various applications to include: MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
• Experience in reporting on key production metrics
• Excellent organizational and leaderships skills
• Knowledge of principles of autonomous maintenance
• Fluency in Written and Spoken English is a must, Russian and Kazakh is a plus
• NACE or BGAS level 2 is a plus

Work conditions

• 5/2, Aktau (relocation)
• Short term business trips may be required
