Media Algorithm Lab of Huawei Moscow Research Center is working on the cutting edge technologies for Huawei Smart Phone and Smart City* solutions. Driven by the demand of the business more than 37 billion US dollars per year, we are searching for the top level scientists, scholars, researchers and high-end engineers to build the image competence center at Moscow. Aiming to provide the best experience for our worldwide customers in the areas of camera and display, image and video, we are working closely with top Russian universities, startup foundations and companies.

As a chief scientist, you will be responsible for leading the research and development for the key technologies in the following areas: artificial intelligence, computer vision, face recognition and augmented reality. The results of the team will be shown to our world market with Huawei smart phones and smart city solutions Your methods will be implemented in the next-gen devices , both in their hardware (CPU, GPU, NPU) or SW architecture.

Responsibilities:

• To perform the research and develop in video/image processing algorithms for some of the areas like: instance segmentation, object recognition and detection, 3D-reconstruction, immersive displays etc.;
• To work on improvement of video/image processing algorithms in terms of quality and performance;
• To research on a new video/image processing methods for future display and/or camera solutions for stationary and mobile applications.
• To provide competitive algorithms and techniques for products.
• To setup the collaboration with top scholars/business partners.

Requirements:

• PhD/Master in Computer Science/Engineering or applied Mathematics;
• 5+ years working experience in video/image processing area;
• Capability to promote novel ideas and perform the technology verification.

Necessary skills:

• to be self-motivated, able to work independently;
• to be open minded and willing to take challenge, willing to work under pressure at multitask environment;
• Has good understandings in programming in C/C++, python, etc.;
• has good oral and written communication on Russian and English, interpersonal skills.

Important skills that will be consider as a plus:

• Profound skills in programming, GPU, mathematics or image/video processing;
• Has excellent cooperation skills with a wide variety of people, including but not limited to, engineering, R&D;
• Be a winner of ACM, Math competitions.
