Itera is looking for a Data Scientist for the new project for Danish customer, with expertise in statistics and machine learning who can participate in identification of data science/ML cases for client's businesses, produce results through application of relevant algorithms and help to take these results to production in order to create value for clients.

The qualified candidate will need to be a fast learner and be able to grasp technical and business aspects of the project. Business trips to Denmark might take place.

The data science team currently consists of two members who help our clients to identify relevant data science/ML areas and afterwards perform the necessary analysis and implement the results to the clients' systems. Tasks are various but all arise from the idea of adding value to businesses through data science and machine learning.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Communicate with customer, understand technical requirements
• Implement software development solution and modules, contribute to design
• Deliver high quality code and documentation

Professional requirements:

• Degree qualified in quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning / AI or other relevant field
• Experience in scripting/programming languages (Python, R, Scala, Java etc.).
• Good data manipulation skills required including cleaning and managing data.
• Familiarity and experience with machine learning concepts: regression and classification, clustering, feature selection, feature engineering, curse of dimensionality, bias-variance tradeoff, neural networks, SVMs, etc
• Experience with data visualization tools and packages a plus.
• Experience with statistics/machine learning packages such as Spark MLlib, Python (scikit-learn, pandas), R etc. is a plus
• Willingness to work with unstructured, messy data.
• A strong sense of connecting technical work to product impacts
• Ability to identify potential data science/machine learning cases in order to create value for our customers is highly valued
• Self-starter and results orientated, able to work under minimal guidance.
• Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new things, techniques and technologies.

Be a plus:

• Experience in working according to SCRUM methodology
• Offshoring projects experience
• Experience of work in distributed environment
