JOB OVERVIEW: Editor (Technical Writer) serves for Black & Veatch in line with Cooperative Biological Engagement Program (CBEP) and provides exceptional, informative and engaging content.

We are looking for an Editor (Technical Writer) with a good sense of what makes an accurate but at the same time interesting angle to a story, to make it as precise to the topic of the article as only possible, who will plan, coordinate, review and edit content – in purpose together with the team of talented scientists to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to success of our project.

This position is an exciting opportunity for the right professional to join a dynamic team developing unique solutions for governments, ministries and services in multiple countries. It will provide an excellent experience for a motivated person with high potential for the career development.

PRINICIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Producing high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience
• Working with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding the documentation, deciding on the specific terms to be used while editing in order to meet quality message across, unified easy-to-understand texts,
• Takes a decision which part of the text should be pursued and which should get dropped in order to meet quality and accuracy standards.
• Suggesting phrasing and corrections to the original texts in alignment with targeted audience’s preferences
• Oversee layout and check content for accuracy and errors
• Proofread, edit and improve documentation (texts or pieces)
• Comply with law and ethical guidelines
• Meet deadlines and budget requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven working experience as an editor or/and translator
• Strong writing/editing/proofreading skills and an excellent portfolio
• Excellent written skills in English, Ukrainian, Russian
• Prioritizing and multitasking
• An eye for detail along with critical thinking, ability to deliver high quality documentation, to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and perform in a dynamic, fast paced, changing environment, and to place team agenda before personal agenda,
• Hands on experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS degree in translation, journalism or in related field
• Familiarity with science in vet/bio/med.
• 4+ years of experience in translation.
