We are looking for Business Analyst for Veon

Do you want to be part of a team that engages over 235 million customers across 12 rising markets? Do you want to pioneer new experiences to hundreds of millions of customers in the markets of tomorrow? We are doing things never thought possible.

We are building a new team to develop Reusable Digital Use Cases which will be an Intellectual Property for VEON and ported to all our OPCOs, monetizing our ever-growing Telco and Application data sets.

This team, and this role, is at the center of excellence & innovation in one of our development HUBs. If you love solving scalability puzzles, working with large data sets and have the drive to develop and optimize performance of a high-visibility Telco and Digital products, then we want to talk to you.

The role of Business analyst in our Reusable IP Team for the Big Data Analytics Platform is uniquely positioned to influence and be involved in the design and development of Reusable Digital Use Cases which will be Intellectual Property of VEON.

Within 30 days, you will…

· Learn about the technical environment of our next-gen Big Data products that will be deployed across multi sites and operated globally

· Be a part of a team working on a high volume, highly available data platform that is critical to the success of the business

· Get familiar with process of requirements analysis and data analysis

Within 60 days, you will…

· Collect, prepare and link large survey datasets for analysis

· Conducting market research and tracking external trends relative to specific products

· Ensure the processes support business needs Interact with other process owners on end-to-end process optimization

· Take part in DWH layers design (together with Dev team/Architect)

· Communicate technical decisions through design docs, tech talks, and the wiki

· Identify and address data-related issues

· Facilitate UAT process

· Develop proof of concepts for the selected solutions, and facilitate complex big data projects with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing and visualizing large sets of data using multiple platforms

· Facilitate getting data from a variety of different sources, getting it in the right formats, assuring that it adheres to data quality standards

Within 90 days, you will…

· Participate in architecture discussions, influence the roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility over projects

· Mentor newcomers via pairing, design review

· Push the team forwards thanks to your deep knowledge of the technical architecture, your ability to drill into any new technology in no time and your natural leadership

· Point the way to various business benefits, including new revenue opportunities, more effective marketing, better customer service, improved operational efficiency

· Generate insights that convert the potential value of big data into real, tangible business value.

The structure of the team you will join is

The Data Analytics group, also dubbed DMP (standing for Data Management Platform) is a key enabler in the digital transformation operated by VEON. VEON is strongly committed to aggressively grow this new division, which it sees as a key strategic objective in order to lay the foundations of future growth. The aim of this new unit is to provide Telecoms Intelligence Services which revolutionize the telecoms industry and enable mobile operators to make their business more profitable.

Within the group, the DMP Engineering team is made of around 15 engineers, comprised of very talented Site Reliability Engineers, Backend Engineers, Data engineers and QA Engineers. It is structured as small Agile teams of 4 to 6 people working with product owners, project managers, business analysts and data scientists.

A bit about you

• 2+ years of work experience developing a best-in-class understanding of databases, data relationships and data integrity (we are building out a team with people with a variety of experience levels)
• 2+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst/Data Analyst on BI/DWH projects
• Being an expert SQL experience required
• Understanding of Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse principles
• Ability to understand business needs and transform that into business and technical functional requirements documentation
• Self-starter attitude and ability to exercise judgment and solve difficult problems without direct supervision
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail; accuracy is a must!
• Understanding of telecommunications KPIs and how they are usually calculated (churn, gross adds, most used site, etc.)
• Other analysis and presentation tools useful (Business objects, etc.)
• Being interested in the business aspects of telecommunications and communicates well with business owners
• Good attitude, humble, positive, hands on
