Purpose of the position:

The Head of Legal Department is in charge of first-class and business-minded legal advise on national level and for managing KN`s Ethics & Compliance Program.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Managing and developing the Legal & Compliance function
• Management, motivation and organization of the team
• Responsible for all legal affairs, in particular: negotiation and drafting of contracts with customers (forwarding, logistics, outsoucring) and suppliers, defense and enforcement of claims, competition law (advise and compliance training), Labour law (advise), regulatory (data protection and licensing), liaison with corporate tax, treasury and risk management functions.
• Corporate housekeeping of all KN legal entities within the country (company law, commercial register) and M&A.
• Selecting and monitoring law firms.
• Managing and developping KN`s Ethics & Compliance Programme on national level (conducting trainings, due diligence of business partners, handling of allegations).
• Implementation of local legal standards and model contracts.
• Safeguarding compliance with corporate guidelines in the Region.
• Training of key-staff on essential legal topics (e.g. liability & insurance).
• Anti-trust matters and compliance.

Education:

• University degree in law.

Professional experience:

• At least four-year experience as in-house counsel of international company or corporate law firm as Head of Legal Department/Legal Counsel/Senior Lawyer

Major competences required:

• Wide experience in drafting of different local and international contracts
• Familiar with international business agreements, in particular Anglo-American
• Excellent knowledge of commercial and civil law, real estate and company law, good knowledge of administrative and insurance law
• Broad knowledge and holistic approach, capability of identifying and solving variety of legal problems
• Analytical thinking
• Commercial acumen
• Pro-active and customer / service-focused
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of logistic industry is an advantage
• Loyalty, self – confidence
• Demonstared ability in conflict management

Additional skills required:

This is an opportunity for strong team – players that can perform independently as well. You should be energetic, motivated self – starter with excellent interpersonal skills. Fluent in English, Russian and Ukrainian languages, German desirable. Competent with office based IT tools.
