• Generate Piping design deliverables and packages for project execution and integrate with those of other disciplines in the preparation of technical tender documentation.
• Assist in the technical evaluation of Piping related procurement.
• Review and quality control of piping engineering design work carried out by design contractors.
• Carry out Site support activities as required for execution of projects and to support Plant issues related to Piping discipline.
• Good understanding of local and international design methods, and an ability to compare both.
• Supervision/inspection and quality control of Piping and associated items being carried out in local workshops and yards.
• Provide interpretations of specific parts of local codes and standards.
• Provide expertise for piping engineering technical advice and problem solving.
• Give daily input to Senior Mechanical Engineer on progress of engineering activities and bring up any issues to attention.
• Stand in to cover other Piping/Mechanical engineers during their vacation breaks.
• Ensure that all elements in piping engineering works comply with safety, permitting and company procedures and specifications.
• Closely follow engineering contractor to ensure deliveries are to the highest technical standard and agreed scope.
• Report any deviations to the scope of work, both technically and schedule, suggest corrective actions when and where required.
• Coordinate Engineering activities in compliance to company and local standards.
• Monitoring contractor performance assuring the application of all the relevant HSEQ and QA procedures is adhered to
• optimizing engineering and construction works from safety, economics, quality and schedule points of view
• Selection of the best technical and economical piping Construction solutions on company facilities
• Quality and consistency of piping project (package) according to project plan
• Assuring the application to project of all the relevant norms, local rules, company standards and international best practices on accident prevention and human protection, environmental impact reduction and energy efficiency
• Observe company values at any time and in all matters
• Ensure that all activities are performed in a cost-effective manner
• Maintain focus on technical excellence and innovation
• Support collaboration and integration across projects, departments and locations and accelerate learning and knowledge sharing
• Ensure – before decision is made – that safety, economical and commercial evaluation is carried out in order to ensure optimal dispositions
• Ensure that all information, written as well as verbal, concerning the company is treated confidentially
• Continue effective daily execution and optimization of activities, whilst seeking and utilizing global synergies and economies of scale
