Digital Marketing Manager

Position Overview:

As a Digital Marketing Manager you are responsible for assisting the sales division with new and existing business opportunities as it relates to our digital services offerings. You will champion digital offerings and oversee execution and engagement across multiple clients, both non-profit and for-profit. You will develop multi-channel digital marketing solutions to help clients break through the clutter, increase conversions and deliver measurable results. Your data-driven analyses and improvement recommendations will drive client ROI and company growth.

The Digital Marketing Manager plays an integral role in client planning, executing online marketing campaigns and supporting strategies, monitoring and reporting, mentoring junior team members and influencing positive results through subject matter expertise. This role requires a strong understanding of paid search, Facebook ads, remarketing ads and display network campaign management. The Manager will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure all analytics and reporting is clear and communicated efficiently. You will work cross-functionally ensure that all deliverables are flawlessly executed on time and according to project requirements.

The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

Client & New Project Onboarding

  • Serve as “business analyst” for digital campaigns and processes; be involved in all aspects of researching, planning, and documenting client requirements, including estimation and management of timelines and developing requirements and expected client outputs.

  • Requirements management - identifying and then monitoring the needs of all stakeholders involved in a project, and making sure that these requirements are met.

  • Requirements development – employ a consistent approach to developing requirements for various projects (i.e. a “roadmap”) that includes developing a plan for gathering and communicating requirements; eliciting information required to prepare to document requirements; author and publish requirements to key stakeholders; and secure acceptance of the requirements from stakeholders.

  • Ensures processes/procedure are in alignment with stakeholder expectations and/or agreed upon criteria.

  • Assist in client data structure initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.

Planning

  • Assist with strategy development for multiple nonprofit digital and cross-channel fundraising programs and for-profit marketing programs.

  • Advise on strategies for segmented messaging and testing targeted towards donor acquisition, lapsed reactivation and donor retention and engagement.

  • Architect the right strategy to deliver on both the audience needs & client objectives across platforms.

  • Influence and collaborate on the creation of digital marketing budgets for clients including advertising spend and campaign revenue.

Campaign Execution / Implementing

  • Serve as an individual contributor developing and implementing projects and be held accountable to work efficiently to manage a variety of tasks while adhering to established timelines.

  • Design and facilitate campaigns; work with internal teams to ensure final campaigns incorporate proper strategy and deploy on time and on budget.

  • Understanding a project's goals and work collaboratively to achieve desired results.

  • Ensure work output aligns with strategic direction, working with both the internal team and directly with clients to ensure that the ideas generated are guided by data and substantiated through methodical tracking and analysis.

  • Oversee the testing of all advertising, email and landing page assets for digital marketing campaigns for quality assurance purposes.

  • Ensure that activities across fundraising channels are integrated and messaging is consistent.

  • Work with team to ensure processes and client deliverables are consistent across teams.

  • Demonstration of skill and aptitude regarding digital team processes inclusive of reporting and analytics.

  • Responsibility for tactical campaign execution and campaign audit.

  • Tracking and reporting on campaign results and data analysis.

  • Owning all outcomes; effectively prioritizing efforts to focus on delivering the most important things first:

    • Ability to manage multiple projects in various statuses.

    • Must be able to communicate status of all projects during periodically scheduled status meetings.

    • Must keep all jobs organized so as not to miss deadlines.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Analyze trends and statistical data related to campaign performance and uncover the insight.

  • Present program analysis and strategic recommendations to key stakeholders and client contacts.

  • Analyze and understand successes and shortcomings across multiple clients in various verticals to identify nonprofit performance trends and strategic direction for program improvement.

  • Attend and facilitate key account meetings with account management team and clients as necessary.

  • Assist in increasing a client’s marketing spend and/or profitability.

  • Assist cross-sell, up-sell efforts by evaluating product combinations utilized by current clients and suggest recommendations for other similarly situated client partners.

Creating Efficiency through Development of Repeatable Processes & Implementation of Best Practices

  • Consistently looking for ways to improve current processes or introduce new approaches that will contribute to company success.

  • Monitor industry changes, trends and developments and translate those into actionable recommendations.

  • Create/update templates for standard processes and procedures and train team on the benefits of their use.

  • Ensure documented processes result in clearly understood instructions that upon execution result in on-target work output

Mentoring and Influencing Positive Results through Subject Matter Expertise

  • Leveraging expertise to raise contribution across team, actively mentor team members.

  • Engage in ongoing learning and share what you know.

  • Review regular metrics reports and analysis for active marketing and fundraising efforts and work with junior account staff to make recommendations to clients.

  • Teach junior team members how to do templated work and follow established processes and procedures:

    • Once workflows are implemented, you will serve as the monitor for these efforts to ensure adherence.

    • Effectiveness will be measured through audience’s adherence and development of capability in others.

  • Support new business process and initiatives when needed.

  • Nurture positive, collaborative working relationships with clients and internal teams.

  • Demonstration of technical proficiency:

    • Planning and execution of online marketing campaigns, including but not limited to account setup, strategy development, organization, and management.

    • Proficient use of trend tools such as Google Analytics, Compete, Google Trends, Tableau, Alteryx.

  • Ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction with a successful project delivery.

  • Serving as an accountable and motivated member of the team.
