Job Overview

This is a unique opportunity for anyone excited by recruiting, staffing and professional development to get the full exposure to all people related topics in our vibrant and growing office in Kazakhstan. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and passion for people topics, including recruiting, staffing and professional development. We are looking for a great team player who is excited by challenges and willing to go the extra mile.

Role reports to the Location Managing Partner. Purpose of this position is to drive staffing strategy for Kazakhstan, as well as take full ownership of administrative and operational side of recruiting and professional development of consultants.

Role will be located in Nur-Sultan office.

Professional Development and Staffing:

Working with the Location Managing Partner to create a vibrant and exciting community where people – individually and collectively – behave like owners, feel cared for, are closely connected, and have access to a full range of opportunities. Manage the full range of professional development and staffing activities for the consultants on a daily basis, including developing professional relationships with consultants to understand their experience, aspirations, and circumstances, and building strong relationships with partners and APs to ensure timely access to staffing-related information.

This includes:

  • Keeping location leadership informed of staffing situation, development, and other people topics (international staffing, people initiatives, etc)
  • Lead the staffing function for Kazakhstan office consultants to ensure consultants are appropriately staffed to teams and provide guidance on staffing
  • Develop and coach individuals, facilitating their professional development. Form a credible, trust-based professional relationship with each consultant, including an in-depth understanding of professional aspirations, experiences, strengths, development needs, and relevant personal circumstances – both on an on-going basis and around specific engagements. Monitor consultants’ development and provide counsel on appropriate assignments, skill development, career progression, and other topics as they arise.
  • Manage local onboarding process and integration. Oversee robust onboarding, including learning before and after joining. Build connection with offerees early in the process. Oversee and facilitate office connectivity and integration
  • Manage the information flow in the required systems. As necessary, coordinate such information as per diem updates, staffing assignments, and performance ratings
  • Work on a variety of ad hoc people-related projects surfaced by regional office leadership, the Professional Development community, or other key stakeholders
  • Run regular and ad hoc staffing reports for leadership
  • Cooperate with the finance on tracking of correct time charging
  • Track consultants’ development plan assign to firm training
  • Coordinate on-site training, communication to faculties and participants, handle all logistics
  • Coordinate performance reviews, trigger assessments and feedback reports and make sure the evaluation committee has the right information
  • Lead year-end compensation review, along with bonus calculation, preparation of memos and syndication with leadership
  • Contribute to broader people initiatives.

Required skills

  • University degree
  • English language is a must, Kazakh/Russian native
  • Minimum 4 years as a professional development and staffing specialist, recruiting specialist or a senior professional with a prior experience in managing people processes

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written); ability to manage multiple priorities; strong project management skills; high level of credibility with senior colleagues.
  • Ability to coach and manage others
  • Strong problem-solving and analytic skills coupled with ownership mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and in conflict situations – finding win/win solutions among stakeholders with different priorities
